Flying home at seven thousand feet, a single engine deHavailland Beaver makes its way between the rugged peaks of the Juneau Icefield. As the sun sets, the mountain peaks are etched sharply against the horizon, and long deep-blue shadows are cast across the vast expanse of ice and snow.
“Over the Top” signifies my start into a career change from commercial art to fine art. By the time I retired in 1993 I had painted a number of scenes taken from experiences all over southeast Alaska. I consider this piece special as it represents my “flight” from the demands of the work-a-day world......rjr."
