“RIVER COUNTRY” This scene depicts what I believe to be typical Taku River “lower
river”. Still in the coastal mountain range with its many glaciers and
high craggy peaks, the river bars are wide and the river is slow. This
section collects a lot of drift. Once mighty members of the forest,
cottonwoods, spruce and other trees find their way to their final
resting place on these gravel and mud planes.
