Seeming to emerge straight up and out of the mountainside high above the Taku River a few miles above the U.S,/Canada boarder, this magnificent waterfall plummets downward, crashing erratically over jagged cliffs and rock rubble to transform into a tranquil beautifully clear emerald blue-green stream that, along with hundreds of others, forms the mighty watershed that makes up the Taku. I chose this vantage point for two reasons. First, it shows off the falls’ unique and startling abrupt entry into the view plane and second, the placid water of the slough in the foreground has always been a favorite family fishing spot.
